Ethics, Integrity, and Professional Conduct
Professional Conduct Built on Clear Standards
Professional value depends on more than technical knowledge and experience. It also requires integrity, accountability, and a clear understanding of the responsibilities that come with BICSI membership and credentials.
The BICSI Ethics Committee develops and administers the Code of Ethics and Professional Obligations, establishing expectations for professional conduct across the BICSI community.
These standards reinforce the principles BICSI members and credential holders are expected to uphold in their professional activities and relationships.
Accountability Through the Ethics Process
The Ethics Committee is responsible for administering the Code of Ethics and Professional Obligations and reviewing allegations of misconduct involving BICSI members or credential holders.
When a complaint alleges a violation of these standards, the Ethics Committee conducts a full investigation and determines the appropriate action needed to resolve the matter.
This process supports consistent accountability and reinforces the professional and ethical expectations associated with BICSI membership and credentials.
Help Uphold BICSI's Ethical Standards
The Ethics Committee brings together BICSI members who are committed to professional integrity, responsible conduct, and accountability.
Committee members contribute to the development and administration of BICSI's ethical standards, participate in the investigation of ethics complaints, and support the committee's ongoing responsibilities.
A Professional Environment Built on Respect
BICSI is committed to maintaining a professional environment where individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
Discrimination, harassment, bias, and prejudice have no place in professional relationships within the BICSI community. This expectation applies to BICSI employees, contractors, consultants, applicants, members, volunteers, and vendors.
BICSI does not tolerate discrimination against or harassment of individuals within these groups.
Understand Your Ethical Responsibilities
BICSI members and credential holders are responsible for understanding the ethical expectations associated with their professional standing.
