BICSI Technician® (TECH) Certification
Decide if TECH Is Right for You
BICSI TECH® is designed for experienced telecommunications installation professionals who work with complex structured cabling systems, network components, and diagnostic testing. The certification validates advanced installation knowledge and the ability to test, troubleshoot, and support telecommunications infrastructure in the field.
As cabling systems become more complex, technicians must be able to look beyond individual installation tasks and evaluate how components work together. TECH recognizes the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify issues, perform diagnostic testing, document results, and support reliable system performance.
TECH is the technician-level credential in the BICSI cabling installation pathway. It supports experienced installers who are ready to validate capabilities beyond foundational, copper, and optical fiber installation.
TECH may be appropriate for experienced installation professionals who perform advanced structured cabling installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical support work.
TECH validates technician-level knowledge and skills across complex telecommunications infrastructure installations.
This includes knowledge and skills related to:
- Structured cabling systems
- Copper and optical fiber installation practices
- Network components and system integration
- Diagnostic testing
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Field documentation
- Tools, equipment, and materials
- Safe work practices
- Technical support in the field
TECH candidates must meet current experience, training, continuing education, or credential requirements before applying.
