BICSI Installer 1® (INST1®) Certificate
Decide if INST1 Is Right for You
INST1 is designed for individuals building foundational telecommunications cabling installation knowledge and beginning the BICSI cabling installation pathway. The certificate validates an understanding of the basic practices used to install copper and coaxial cabling within a variety of building environments.
Consistent installation begins with an understanding of cable handling, termination, testing, safety, and other fundamental practices that affect infrastructure performance. INST1 establishes that foundation and supports continued progression toward BICSI’s copper, fiber, and technician-level credentials.
INST1 may be appropriate for entry-level installers, early-career technicians, and other individuals who perform or support telecommunications cabling installation work. It is also suited for individuals entering the profession who want to validate foundational installation knowledge.
