About the BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) Certification
As ICT systems become more complex, your need to be recognized for your knowledge of current and emerging installation practices becomes more critical.
The Installer 2, Fiber certification is ideal for individuals wishing to show their expanded knowledge of the industry, with a specialization in Optical Fiber. For credential holders that have the Installer 1 certification and/or the Installer 2, Copper, this certification is the next step in continuing to advance professionally in the ICT industry.
BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) candidates are tested on their ability to understand and apply a comprehensive collection of installation-specific information. Achieving your INSTF designation will demonstrate your ability to:
- Successfully interpret drawings, plans and specifications.
- Properly test and troubleshoot optical fiber installations.
- Discuss media selection and implications for implementation on the network.
- Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards and best practices.
- Interpret the job plan and scope of work as well as perform retrofits and upgrades for existing infrastructure.
Please note: The Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) exam is not included in the course fee. You must apply for the exam separately. The application deadline is 5 days prior to your exam date. Exam applications will not be processed after the deadline.
