Instructional Designer/LMS Coordinator

The Instructional Designer/LMS Coordinator will work as an integral part of a collaborative instructional development team responsible for the assessment, design, development, and evaluation of the Association’s education and training programs. The person in this role will also be responsible for management of the team’s core learning management system (LMS) responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead the planning, analysis, design, development, deployment and evaluation of learning materials:
    • Develop instructional design plans for training programs, including determining project goals, defining objectives, and clarifying content structure within the constraints of the project.
    • Analyze content, target audience, job tasks, and learner environment to identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives.
    • Gather and analyze input of Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to develop and modify instructional material.
    • Identify user needs, analyze and logically organize complex technical information, and transform complex bodies of information into professionally designed, engaging and effective programs.
    • Create and establish curriculum development and deployment timelines.
    • Work within budgets developed for programs/products.
  • Design and develop course content that meet the needs of adult learners in a face to face and online training environment.
    • Develop interactive training materials that include sound instructional design methodology including presentations, instructor and participant guides, classroom activities, practice exercises, and handouts.
    • Develop sound Level 2 assessments for ILT and E-Learning courses.
    • Design interactive web-based training materials that include sound instructional design methodology, appropriate training strategies, and participant activities for adult learners.
    • Format, and develop new web-based training modules.
    • Build strong relationships with BICSI Subject Matter Experts
  • Conduct reviews of deliverables for instructional quality and soundness.
    • Attend program pilots (Alphas, Betas and preview courses) for developed content.
    • Analyze Level 1 and Level 2 data to determine changes that may be necessary to course content.
  • Perform day-to-day administration and maintenance of the LMS.
    • Serve as subject matter expert regarding LMS administration by developing a deep understanding of all components, features and functions of the LMS and by keeping up to date with industry best practices.
    • Enforce standards developed by the team for content delivery through the LMS and suggest improvements to keep pace with the changing of business needs.
    • Manage lifecycle of courses, including but not limited to; creating courses and enrolling users; troubleshooting customer inquiries regarding BICSI Connect content, ensure proper close-out of ILT courses
  • Serves as a liaison and representative for Association needs, as expected from all members of the Professional Development Department including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Responds promptly to miscellaneous member and nonmember inquires via telephone, email or other such appropriate methods.
    • Maintains awareness of member needs/concerns.
    • Addresses needs and concerns either personally or by appropriate referral.

Education/Experience:

  • Masters degree in Instructional Design or related field or equivalent experience required. —or— Bachelors Degree and two (2) years of experience in the analysis, design, development, and evaluation; a combination of instructor led, self-study or Web-based instruction or equivalent experience required.
  • 1+ year experience working with an LMS that involved uploading SCORM/AICC packages, UAT testing and troubleshooting
  • Preferred, but not required:
    • Instructional design experience in the telecommunications/information technology systems services industry.
    • Membership in a professional learning association (ASTD, ISPI, eLearning Guild, etc.)

Provider Services Administrator

The Provider Services Administrator is responsible for the administering all services associated with Continuing Education Credit Processing and Authorized Training Providers (ATF & ADTPs). The Provide Services Administrator is responsible for the administration of the BICSI Tampa Classroom Training facilities, and all mobile classroom installation resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees administrative functions supporting Provider Services to fulfill business initiatives including, but not limited to the following: Continuing Education Application Processing ·
  • Manages efficient processing of CECs for Corporate and Industry courses, as well as BICSI Breakfast Clubs, BICSI Region Meetings, and Global courses.
  • Maintains CEC Application log and report monthly on total applications received and processed.
  • Manages efficient processing of department invoices, check requests, and credit card transaction forms
  • Develops and maintains desirable working relationships with CEC event contacts and course providers.
  • BICSI Authorized Provider Support
    • Monitor and manage responses to Provider Services Mailbox
    • Forward interest package to companies soliciting information around BICSI Authorized Provider Programs.
    • Working with the Manager, Provider Services, in sending Welcome and Onboarding communications to all new ATF and ADTPs
    • Maintain current files and list of active and inactive authorized providers
    • Prepare and send renewal notifications to all BICSI Authorized Providers as required.
    • Monitor receipt of renewals, prepare invoicing, track payment, and send renewal confirmation notifications upon renewal
    • Alert Manager, Provider Services of non-renewing or non-responsive authorized providers
    • Registers ATFs and ADTPs students in association management tool for attendance and produces certificates as required
    • Maintain current file and list of active and inactive Certified Trainers
    • Monitor and send Certified Trainer re-certification notifications
    • Monitor receipt of Certified Trainer re-certifications, and send re-certification confirmations
    • Alert Manager, Provider Services of non-responsive or Certified Trainers who have not renewed within the specified timeframe
  • BICSI Tampa Classroom Facilities
    • Maintains daily coffee preparation, lunchcoordination and orderliness of the student break area
    • Negotiate and coordinate with selected vendor(s) on delivery of lunch services for all Tampa classes
    • Establish and maintain strong local vendor relationships (hotel, catering services) to negotiate and secure services on behalf of BICSI
  • Installation Training Resources
    • Negotiate, maintain truck storage facility agreements
    • Monitors the operation and maintenance of BICSI vehicles. Works closely with BICSI staff and vehicle operators to facilitate repairs and proper maintenance of BICSI vehicles as needed
    • When required, make the necessary arrangement to support the deployment of International Mobile Installation Kit
    • As with all members of the Professional Development Department, serves as a liaison and representative for member needs including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Responds promptly to miscellaneous member and nonmember inquiries via telephone, email or other communication methods
    • Maintains awareness of departmental and membership needs/concerns
    • Evaluates and forwards member concerns to appropriate departmental managers
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school degree and 4-5 years professional administration experience required.

Skills: To perform this job successfully, and individual should have through knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet and customer database systems. Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking) required. Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing and speaking) is highly desirable. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
