Remote Access, Virtualization, and Network Services

COURSE DESCRIPTION
At the start of this course, you'll learn about cloud services, delivery methods, and security considerations, as well as networking services. You'll also explore cabling types, connectors, and standards.

Next, you will have a chance to explore virtual networking components, network storage types, and connection types. Also, discover wide area network (WAN) concepts, including service types, transmission mediums, service characteristics, and termination.

At the end of the series, you will explore monitoring concepts, including event logs, alerts, and patch management. Also, discover remote access methods, such as VPNs, RDP, SSH, VNC, and telnet.

  • Recognize when to use certain connection types such as FCoE, Fibre Channel, iSCSI
  • Compare and contrast difference service types
  • Compare different WAN transmission mediums such as satellite, copper, fiber
  • Compare and contrast different terminations such as demarcation point, CSU/DSU, smart jack
  • Configure WAN technologies
  • Use a VPN including IPsec, SSL/TLS/DTLS, site-to-site, and client-to-site in a scenario
  • Use the following in a scenario: RDP, SSH, VNC, telnet, and an HTTPS management URL
  • Use remote file access such as FTP/FTPS, SFTP, and TFTP
  • Use out-of-band management such as a modem or console router
  • Configure remote access methods in a given scenario
