Standards Related to ANSI/BICSI 002 Approved by Peruvian Government

BICSI CALA’s Peru Country Chair Cristian Reyes and Peru Country Secretary Rosalia Zarate assisted the Peruvian Government in creating and recently approving a complete set of standards related to data center design. Utilizing ANSI/BICSI 002-2019, Data Center Design and Implementation Best Practices, the local team contributed their expertise and knowledge to the process. BICSI congratulates the government of Peru on this milestone, framed within their effort to assist in Peru’s successful digital transformation.

San José was the Destination for the First BICSI Day Costa Rica

During BICSI Day Costa Rica, a full day of rich, ICT knowledge transfer and networking was planned in San José. ICT professionals from around the globe attended to share their experiences in new generations of Power over Ethernet (PoE), new data center technologies and standards, Wi-Fi best practices and more! The BICSI CALA District, guided by Costa Rica Country Chair Miguelangel Ochoa, RCDD, organized the event with close to 20 sponsors. BICSI Spreads ICT Knowledge in Ecuador

BICSI Day Ecuador was very eventful and packed with a lot of ICT knowledge. BICSI Ecuador Country Chair, Daniel Faour, opened the event and many presentations including topics such as hyper scale data centers, 5G, the next generation of PoE and fiber optical certification were touched upon after. A lively panel discussion also drew in attention from attendees toward the end of the event. The 2020 BICSI India Conference in Mumbai has been Postponed

Although the 2020 BICSI India Conference in Mumbai, has been postponed, the BICSI India District Conference & Exhibition in Bengaluru will be happening 18 September 2020. The BICSI India District Conference & Exhibition in New Delhi is also still scheduled for 4 December 2020. A wide range of ICT industry-related topics will be presented and many experts from around the globe are anticipated to be in attendance.

2019 Japan District Conference & Exhibition Update:

The 2019 Japan Conference & Exhibition, held on 21 November at the Sola City Conference Center in Chiyoda City, Tokyo, focused on ICT information and transmission system technology and had a large lineup of expert speakers from various verticals. With the support of exhibitors and sponsors, the event exceeded the participant level of last year and the number of visitors increased. The Cabling Skills Challenge, which was prepped for about half a year, was also held during the conference.

The agenda included many topics such as technologies and standards driving the evolution of smart cities, buildings and infrastructures. The conference also presented invaluable networking opportunities and the ability to obtain continuing education credits (CECs) for credentials.

With the help of our many sponsors and exhibitors, the Japan District Conference was filled with many interesting companies from various locations around the globe. The event also received support from many public institutions. In particular, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) is the largest industrial organization and also creates standards in Japan. The JApan Network Operators' Group (JANOG) is an organization of network operators that we were also happy to have associated with our event.

Success X3: Tech Seminars Made a Positive Impact in EMEA Region

The EMEA Region hosted three events that made positive strides in the ICT/ELV industry. With subject matter inclusive of edge datacentres, digital electricity, LAN and IT infrastructure, power over ethernet (PoE), MTDCs and more, attendees had a lot to take in. With informative educational sessions, BICSI CECs / CPDS and plenty of networking opportunities, all BICSI Technical Seminars were highly regarded by attendees. Recent Changes to the BICSI Board of Directors

Carol Everett Oliver, RCDD, DCDC, ESS, has been elected by the BICSI membership to the position of BICSI President-Elect. By becoming President-Elect Carol has vacated the position of BICSI Secretary. The BICSI Board has appointed current Global Region Director Rick Ciordia, PE, RCDD, DCDC, RTPM, CT to serve out the final year of Carol's term as BICSI Secretary. In addition, the BICSI Board has appointed BICSI CALA District Chair Betty Bezos, RCDD, DCDC, ESS, NTS, OSP to serve out the final year of Rick's term as Global Region Director. Congratulations to all on their new roles.

Thousands gathered in Tampa for the 2020 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition

Running from 9-13 February, the conference incorporated a wide range of topics including 5G; data centers; PoE (Power over Ethernet); smart cities; the Internet of Things (IoT); AV; wireless and distributed antenna systems (DAS); building automation; passive optical networks (PON) and more.
