BICSI, The Global Association Supporting ICT Community, to Host First ACE Summit in Dubai

BICSI ACE Summit being held on the sidelines of GITEX 2017 will focus on standards for Design and Implementation Best Practices for the ICT Community
Dubai, UAE, 5 October, 2017—BICSI, the global association advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) community, will host the debut 2017 BICSI ACE Summit in Dubai on October 10. The event being held on the sidelines of 37th GITEX Technology Week is a platform for industry stakeholders especially Architects, Consultants & End-Users (ACE) to share wisdom, expertise, experience, observations and challenges.

The Summit will provide stakeholders the opportunity to learn about the international standards applicable for effective design and implementation of best practices for ICT Applications like data centers, structured cabling, wireless infrastructure and audio-video. Speakers at the summit include Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Smartworld, a joint venture company between the Middle East’s largest telecommunication operator Etisalat and the world’s first purpose-built aerotropolis Dubai South; and Ajay Rathi, Senior Director, Information Technology, Meraas Holding.

“The UAE is at the forefront of adopting the world’s latest and advanced technologies. The response from companies to participate in BICSI ACE Summit clearly shows the keenness to excel and this is the right platform for architects, consultants and end-users to understand the ideal way to go about it,” said BICSI President Brian Ensign, RCDD, NTS, OSP, RTPM, CSI. “There are clearly very strong benefits of following standards. It is not a question of whether or not companies should go for it. It needs to be planned right from the design stage before an organization makes this transition to gain the maximum business benefits. With ICT as the common thread for digital infrastructure and Smart Building concepts, an effective and efficient structured cabling is critical to the success of both initial implementation and future growth to meeting the building and occupant needs. The standards developed by BICSI and other associations like TIA, IEEE, ISO, etc. are written to define these current practices and drive improvement
in quality and system performance.”

Representatives from ACE community will also engage the participants in an important panel discussion on challenges faced in implementation of best practices. One of the key challenges is to get the right talent, as there is big gap in supply and demand. BICSI plays a vital role to provide education and training to enhance the skills of a designer or installer through its credentials. Registration for the conference is now open at bicsi.org/mea. The event will also be preceded by an information session on BICSI’s RCDD Credential that ranks among the top five credentials in ICT Community globally.
