    • Data Center Efficiency - New Opportunities - The Design Impact of ASHRAE TC 9.9.2011
      • Julius Neudorfer, Hawthorne, New York

3 CECs – RCDD, RITP, DCDC, ITS Installer/Technician

ASHRAE TC 9.9 changed the environmental envelope in 2011 by introducing a roadmap that outlined a significant path to increase the operational hours during which economizer systems are able to be used. It also gave data centers the opportunity to become "chillerless," eliminating mechanical cooling systems entirely, in order to realize improved Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). This has tremendous impact and implications for data center design and operation.

    • AV and IT Connectivity Design for Ceilings, Walls, Floors and Tables
      • Glenn Collinge, FSR Inc., Woodland Park, New Jersey

      3 CECs – RCDD, RITP, ITS Installer/Technician

Considered a vital business technology, audiovisual applications are now commonplace in a variety of environments. For everything from educational smart boards, and projector and presentation systems, to videoconferencing, digital signage and sound systems, audiovisual and IT connectivity is being installed in ceilings, walls, floors and tables in offices, boardrooms, classrooms, auditoriums, public spaces and courtrooms. Understanding the variety of audiovisual devices and enclosures, knowing which connector type supports which application and ensuring cable management and aesthetics during installation is key to designing audiovisual systems that enable proper operation, deliver optimal performance and facilitate future upgrades and changes. This seminar will educate attendees on the various components and connectors and how they are properly installed into ceilings, walls, floors and furniture. Several scenarios and demonstrations will offer design tips for ideal layout of components and enclosure selection to support various audiovisual applications.
    • Benefits of Passive Air Containment in the Data Center
      • Jay Myers, RCDD, Legrand/Ortronics, Tampa, Florida

3 CECs RCDD, RITP, DCDC, ITS Installer/Technician

The data center manager/owner can receive substantial benefits by implementing a well-engineered air containment system in the data center. These benefits include: reduced energy consumption and cost for cooling; improved reliability of network equipment and reduced down time; improved use of data center space, giving a longer useful life for existing facilities; and delaying capital expenditures for additional space. All methods of containment shown in this presentation are available from multiple sources in the marketplace.
    • Leveraging New Technologies to Generate New Recurring Monthly Revenue Streams
      • Bill Bozeman, PSA Security Network, Westminster, Colorado
      • Sharon Shaw, PSA Security Network, Westminster, Colorado

3 CECs – RCDD, RITP, ESS, ITS Installer/Technician

There is no question that over the past few years, video surveillance, access control and voice-over-IP (VoIP) technologies have significantly evolved. These innovations have recently enabled systems integrators to provide a host of subscription services to their customer base, providing customers with a more intuitive and feature-rich security system while generating a recurring monthly revenue stream. In this session, attendees will learn how to apply video analytics, VoIP, hosted access control platforms and hosted video surveillance storage to enhance the security and protection for end users. These technologies can save end users money and create new efficiencies in their businesses.
